A Hall of Famer and an outstanding Defensive Player and tackler, Joey Browner was selected to six Pro Bowls, in 1985-1990 while playing with the Minnesota Vikings (1983-1991). He finished his career playing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1992. Browner made the NFL’s All Decade Team for the 1980’s and member of the Vikings 40th Anniversary All-Time Team.

Joey Browner is also a 3 time member of the John Madden “All-Madden Team” to include being an NFL All-Pro 4 times as a safety. Joey also is a five-time NFL Hall of Fame Nominee.

Joey was the first round draft pick and 7th overall pick as Safety of the Minnesota Vikings in 1983. Browner holds the NFL fumble recovery record with 3 fumble recoveries in one game.  In the Pro Bowl, Browner had 3 fumble recoveries and one interception for a touchdown. In his career, Browner had 40 interceptions for 505 total yards including the Playoffs.

Today Browner can be heard on Las Vegas and Hawaii radio and Internet airwaves on Nationwide Sports. Joey also excels in the Minnesota/St Paul communities in Public Relations. Joey Browner was enshrined into the African-American hall of fame in 2004 for his work in Broadcasting. Joey Browner continues to be on the ‘Hall of Fame NFL ballot the last 4 years straight, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
