The Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy to speak at Greater Lake Country Food Bank’s 29th Anniversary Celebration

MINNEAPOLIS —  April 3, 2009 —  The Greater Lake Country Food Bank is pleased to announce the Honorable Patrick J. Kennedy (D-RI), son of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy  (DMA), will be the keynote speaker at its 29th anniversary celebration, Sunday, April 19, at East Side Neighborhood Services, 1700 2nd Street NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413. The event will take place from 12—3:30 pm.

Kennedy, who is serving his 8th term in Congress representing Rhode Island, has become known as a staunch advocate for seniors and the everyday working family struggling in this economy, will address measures being taken to answer issues concerning hunger.

Congressman Jim Ramstad, one of the founders of the Greater Lake Country Food Bank, will be the event’s master of ceremonies.  The public is encouraged to attend the event to support the food bank’s efforts to fight hunger.

Tickets purchased and donations made to the food bank during the month of March, which is Minnesota Food Share Month, will receive matching funds.
