Minneapolis, MN...Join co-sponsors – the editors in chief of the Independent Business News Network, Don Allen and The Mpls Mirror’s Terry Yzaguirre for the 2009 Minneapolis Mayoral Forum broadcast live on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 3-4 p.m. on Minneapolis Television Network, channel 17 (Minneapolis).
The forum will be premiered again on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 12-noon, both on Minneapolis Television Network channel 17.
Confirmed participant for the 2009 Minneapolis Mayoral Debate are:
“Papa” John Kolstad: The Independence Party has endorsed Papa John Kolstad for Mayor tonight. Mr.Kolstad is a small business owner on East Lake Street who has much experience in reform-minded politics. Papa John will bring his experience from the Green Party and pair it with endorsements from the Independence Party and the Republican Party.
Alfred Flowers: Al Flowers has been a long-time advocate of Civil and Human Rights in Minneapolis. His stance against the Minneapolis Public Schools for the “lack” of education led to a grant from the Minneapolis Public Schools to develop an After School Tutoring program. Al’s website says, “Truth to the People.”
William “Bill” McGaughey: Bill McGaughey, the Independent Party 2008 Congressional candidate and currently one of the 2009 Minneapolis Mayoral candidates is a advocate for property and landlord rights. Mr. McGaughey thinks the City of Minneapolis has gone too far with regulations, fines and some corrupt practices by Minneapolis City Hall (al la Council-person Lisa Goodman).
James Everett: James Everett, sometimes militant community activist, motivational speaker with wisdom beyond his years has the strength to pull the youth vote.
R.T. Rybak: (Incumbent) Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak been as been invited, and we have received an e-mail from the mayor’s office, but no confirmation at the publishing of this press release.
The forum will be moderated by IBNN’s Don Allen, and Mpls Mirror’s Terry Yzaguirre.
