Washington, DC (V-Newswire/December 21, 2009)…Yesterday morning the weather forecast was for a dusting of snow with maybe 2-3 inches of accumulation depending on the track of a storm.
By this morning (12/20) the forecast was for 6-10 inches throughout the whole Washington area.
The last update was for 12-24 inches starting tonight and continuing through Sunday morning.
Washington has been keeping weather records for 140 years. It is anticipated that this storm will dump more snow than any other one in December on record and that it will surpass the total amount that fell during all of last year’s winter.
We have been told to expect 4-8 inches by daylight tomorrow morning and that the heaviest snowfall will start tomorrow afternoon into the Saturday night.
All three airports have already announced that they will be closed tomorrow until the snow is over Sunday morning.
